Qatar ID Number Sample And Format

Take a look at your Qatar ID card to find out your QID number. This 11-digit number appears in the middle of the card. Please refer to the following example of a QID number:


The QID number consists of four parts. In this sequence number, the first digit represents the century of the individual’s birth, the next two indicate the year of birth, the next three indicate the nationality of the individual based on the ISO Country Code, and the last five represent the sequence number assigned by combining the year of birth with the ISO Country Code. Each sequence number is unique to a person and is generated based on the order in which they lived.

An individual with the QID 28425001234 indicates that they were born in 1985, are a French citizen (ISO code 250), and are the 1234th Qatar resident with these characteristics.

Qatar ID Apply By the Metrash2 App

Metrash2 App also allows you to request a replacement residence permit if yours is lost or damaged. The steps to follow are listed below.

  • Login to Metrash2¬†
  • Go to the ‘Residency’ section
  • Next, select ‘Replace damaged/lost ID’
  • Please enter your QID number, then select a service type: damaged or lost.
  • To submit, select ‘Next’
  • QPost delivery will cost you 20 Riyals. The package can also be picked up at your local service center.
  • Click next after paying QR 200, excluding QPost delivery fees.
  • Then you can pick it up or have it delivered as soon as it’s ready.

Apply online

In just a few clicks, you can apply online through the e-services portal.

  • Visit the MOI eServices portal with your smartcard.
  • Choose ‘Residence Service’
  • Choose the service type “Replace Lost or Replace Damaged” according to your request under “Replacement for lost/damaged residence permit”.
  • Please fill out the details of the person (expat) you are issuing a Residence Permit/QID card to. They can provide an additional number for themselves or a family member.
  • The Expatriates Affairs Department or Qatar Postal Services Company can arrange a courier for you to pick up your package.
  • Enter the address and check the information validity box to select the mail courier delivery option.
  • The next step is to pay the fees and save the receipt.

Further Information

  • The applicant must be inside the country when applying for the card.
  • QID cards must be reported lost by sending an “Implicit” security notification.


  • The fee for this service is QR 200, plus QR20 for mail courier delivery (if applicable).

There are a few things to keep in mind if you want to obtain your QID offline. A credit or debit card is the only method of payment for the new QID. There is no cash payment option available.   • Pay QAR 200 by credit or debit card.
  • Within a few minutes, your QID card will be reissued.
